It’s hard to believe that we’ve finished the 2nd quarter already, yet here we are! This month we add the 2nd quarter contest to our monthly “Best of” categories for Bella Baby and Bella Life. The theme for this quarter was “Best Expressions.” Photographers could enter any images captured in-hospital during the months of April, May, and June. The competition was fierce, and the creativity is stunning. Cheers to the June & 2nd Quarter 2024 contest winners! Great job everyone!
Now, some words from our winners….
Our expressions contest this quarter was so good we couldn’t decide on one winner for second place. One of our winners, Pamela Shay, shared this about the image she captured: “I placed baby on his stomach and covered his bottom with a blanket for a sleeping pose and the baby happened to give me a great big smile. Baby was about 2 weeks old and was in the NICU. Guess he was super happy to be going home!”
Abby Nelson also received 2nd place in the quarterly contest for this precious expression. Here’s what Abby had to say about photographing this special moment: “This photo was taken in the NICU and baby boy was wide awake the whole time! I was capturing photos with him on his back and he made this expression – I immediately knew I had captured something amazing. I looked back and showed mom right there on my camera and we both got a laugh out of it! When we were finishing up, the nurse came in and mom asked me to show her the photo. I was so excited!”
Bella Life 1st place winner, April Sweeney, had this to say about her winning image: “It was a crazy session with a surprise downpour! We had planned ahead of time to have this little guy bring a fun outfit, really showing how a toddler dresses. I brought an umbrella and a jug of water. The rain surprisingly didn’t leave any puddles so Julia, my assistant, and I hunted for a spot to pour our water. It was a great way to end the session and hopefully this guy will continue to love having his fun little life captured by our Bella Life family.”
