We asked our photographers to tell us a little something about their winning images.
Here’s what Natalie had to say about this flawless image that took 1st place: “Rose has this great blue wall and if the light is right I always try this pose sometimes with bassinet lifted, sometimes flat depending on how the light is coming in. Then I move around to get the right angle so I am not a shadow in it. It really only works maybe 5% of the time that there is no light reflection. And then the bassinet itself has to be clean. I will always try it in these rooms but usually it doesn’t work.”
We asked 2nd place winner, Keisha Anderson of Tinton Falls, NJ, what her creative process was behind this stunning image, here’s what she had to say: “This photo was inspired by another session I did earlier in the month. That family only wanted photos of the baby in the bassinet. It was totally trial and error. Playing with different heights (standing vs squatting) and different angles (above the bassinet vs looking straight at the bassinet). This is one of my favorite angles to use when parents don’t want to be in the photo.”
