What’s A Sprinkle?

In the past moms would have thought a sprinkle was a need to have a change of clothes; an unexpected mishap during a diaper change; the reason pee-pee teepees were invented.

Today, we know it to be a reason to celebrate.  A play on the word shower, it is a mini baby shower or SPRINKLE.

How do you know when to choose a sprinkle?

Showers are typically for a first baby. At a traditional shower, you would expect a larger gathering of extended family and friends. These are also where a new mom would receive gifts like strollers, car seats, and even cribs.

A sprinkle is a time to give smaller, more personal gifts for a family’s second or even third baby.

Sprinkles are meant to be simple and laid back compared to a traditional shower. When you attend a sprinkle you usually don’t need to dress up; simple is better. This time around it’s not about the bigger, the better, or playing games. This time it’s for giving books, clothes, and smaller personal gifts for the new baby. Sprinkles are, generally, for only the closest people to the expecting mama.

By the way, we think wedding sprinkles should happen about every 10 years throughout a marriage!  If someone can come up with a way to make that happen we would be eternally grateful! Mama needs a new set of towels!
